"The Place Where the Water Boils" is a dynamic live performance that seamlessly integrates dance, theatre, and video. This production delves into the realms of critical consciousness, aiming to unravel the intricate interplay between space, time, and the technology of Blackness. Drawing inspiration from the rich intellectual legacy of bell hooks and Octavia Butler, it weaves together a vibrant collage of Black aesthetic influences. In doing so, it serves as an opportunity for the embodiment and enactment of praxis, particularly in the realms of transgression and deviancy and it's preluding implications.

As a burgeoning creator in the realm of movement, I craft innovative kinetic compositions rooted in extensive research. Drawing from profound traditions and concept-driven performance approaches, my work delves into the essence of self, society, decolonization, and heritage. I am deeply immersed in the rich tapestry of the African diaspora's movement heritage, particularly embracing the time-honored Katherine Dunham technique. Implicitly exploring themes of creolization, my artistic exploration intertwines personal desires, critical theory, video/media, and cultural background into the realm of dance, which itself thrives in the realm of both political discourse and interpersonal connections.
Central to my artistic exploration is the exploration of nostalgia and the subliminal / surreal realm of human thought, while challenging the notion of the universal human within the technologies of Blackness. Every piece I create is underpinned by a fundamental question: "Can I forge a profound communion with my subconscious, immersing myself in thoughts and concepts that dwell beyond the surface of consciousness?"
